Dear Skater/Club Secretary,
Please find below some important points to be aware of for the Indoor Champs in Sheffield next week end:
1) Registration opens at 11am - please be prompt.
2) The clocks go forward 1 hour to BST on the Saturday night.
3) The venue is an old ice rink and there is no heating. It will be very cold, so bring warm clothing! (There is a nice warm Cafe....)
4) Spectators will be charged £1 each on entry to the rink but anyone showing a valid 2008 FISS Membership card will be allowed to enter for free.
5) You cannot enter the races on the day but you can pay online up to 48 hours before the event at: www.inlinespeed.co.uk
6) Unfortunately there is no disabled access as the rink is on the first floor, up a couple of flight of stairs.
7) There are road works on the M1 with a 50mph speed limit (with average speed cameras) between Jct 25 and 28.
This information will also be displayed on the FISS website but please make sure you pass on the info. to anyone who is not on email or the internet - thank you.
We wish you all a Happy Easter and look forward to seeing you next Sunday.
Kind regards
Cass Porter

So what is a RAT race?
If you fancy a go at a skating race but aren't ready to join FISS, then every FISS track and indoor event includes races just for you! Called RAT (originally Rink and Trick Skaters) racing, you can skate in inlines or quads and give it a go! The cost last year was £2 per event, and for that you get 2 races spread through the programme. The only things that you need other than your skates are a crash hat/helmet (If you don't have one don't buy one especially - we usually have some that you can borrow) and if you are under 18 you will need a parental signature in order to skate. RAT races are lots of fun and usually have skaters of all abilities and ages in them, so don't be shy - come and have a go!
Entry to FISS races for spectators is free unless indicated otherwise.
